6 Remote Facebook Jobs and Money Making Opportunities

If you’re searching for remote jobs with Facebook (also known as Meta), this post has you covered!

You probably know Facebook as the world’s largest social media platform. But did you know that Meta owns Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, Threads, WhatsApp, Meta Quest, and Workplace? With this massive reach comes many ways to work with the tech giant!

If you enjoy spending time on Facebook and would like to work from home, here are some remote Facebook jobs and money-making opportunities, as well as scams that you need to know about.

1. Social Media Evaluation Jobs

Much like a Search Engine Evaluator or an Ad Rater, in this role, you will log on to social media sites, like Facebook, to search up keywords and terms for quality and relevancy. But before you can begin, you must pass an online assessment test, which I’ve heard is quite challenging. For these roles, you must be detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and up-to-date on current trends. You can apply for these remote jobs on AppenTELUS Digital, and Welocalize. In these positions, you’ll work as an independent contractor, but your work hours are flexible. These companies hire workers from all around the world.

2. Facebook Ads Manager

If you’ve figured out the key to effective Facebook ads, there are lots of business owners who will pay you handsomely to run and manage their Facebook ads. These positions are sometimes called Paid Media Specialists or Digital Ad Specialists. You can find these remote jobs on sites like FlexJobsBraftonIZEA, and Raptive.

Another way to work as a Facebook Ads Manager is by starting your own Facebook Ad Management Agency from home. If you’re not sure where to start, Bobby Hoyt created a course called the Facebook Side Hustle, which teaches you how to manage small business owners’ Facebook ads. While I’ve not taken the course myself or reviewed it, it does come highly recommended by my friend Kristin from Believe in a Budget.

3. Social Media Moderator

As a Facebook Moderator, you will oversee Facebook groups and pages to ensure that group rules are followed, questions are answered, and spammers are kept at bay. In this role, you won’t be working for Facebook directly; instead, you’ll work for business owners and bloggers who need assistance with their Facebook pages and groups.

4. Social Media Manager

Social Media Management is an all-encompassing position where you’ll create content, respond to queries, run and evaluate social media campaigns, moderate content, and much more. Usually, you can score these jobs if you have a marketing degree, social media experience, or by taking an online course. Often, for these roles, you’ll need to be familiar with multiple platforms such as Twitter (X), LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Snapchat, as well as Facebook and Instagram.

Meta hires for a wide variety of remote marketing roles, so you can start your job search there. You can also find social media positions at marketing agencies and large and small companies alike. Staffing agencies like Robert Half and Kelly Services are excellent for finding one-off remote job opportunities as well.

If you want more control over your time, providing freelance social media services is a great option. You can post your services on sites like Upwork or Fiverr, or you can pitch clients directly. For more information on starting your own social media business, check out this article.

5. Become a Facebook Influencer

If you’re a content creator who enjoys creating unique content online, Facebook has many options for you to monetize your influence.

Currently, Facebook has five in-house methods for making money with your content:

  • In-Stream Video Ads
  • Instant Articles
  • Fan Subscriptions
  • Collaborate with Brands
  • Live Video (Earn Stars)
  • Bonuses

To make money with these methods, you’ll need an established Brand or Business Page on Facebook. Each monetization method has certain criteria that you’ll need to meet before you can apply to the program, but once you meet those milestones, it’s easy to apply. I’m unsure how they choose who gets into each program; I was eligible for Bonuses and applied, but I haven’t earned anything from it yet. I’m also not very active on Facebook.

You can also monetize your Facebook influence with affiliate marketing, or you can sell your own products on Facebook. Whether you want to create branded merch or sell printables, ebooks, courses, or services, there are many ways to make money from your Facebook audience with Facebook Commerce and Facebook Appointments.

6. Remote Facebook Jobs

If you want to work as a Facebook employee, they have many remote jobs, full-time positions, and internships that you can apply for! Facebook hires remote employees from the US, Canada, Europe, India, and Brazil, and most positions are location-dependent.

To locate the new jobs on their site, select the search inputs that say location and then choose remote. Facebook hires in many different career areas, such as AI, advertising technology, business development, communications, data, design, engineering, finance, legal, operations, people, research, sales, marketing, interns, VR, and more!

If you’re not finding a relevant occupation in their current selection of openings, you can also create a Career Profile where you can create personalized job alerts, get job suggestions, complete coding puzzles, and view interview schedules.

For non-remote employees, Facebook has a hybrid work model where in-person employees get to work from home three days a week. It also sounds like most managers are pretty flexible when it comes to scheduling. Meta is an equal opportunity employer and a sponsor of military spouses and veterans, offering mentorship programs and more.

Besides embracing remote work, Meta offers many benefits to its employees, including health and wellness plans, paid family leave, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, equity, pay transparency, and more!

Watch Out for Scams

Of course, because so many people want to work for Facebook, scammers like to take advantage of this eagerness by promoting fake Facebook jobs. On the Scam Detector, he mentions two, one being “Facebook Fortunes Home Income Flow” and the other being “Facebook Bonanza.”

With these, when you click on the apply button, you will be taken to a landing page where you’ll need to enter your credit card information to obtain the starter kit. It’s like the Easy Google Profits scam that was running rampant a few years ago. Once they have your credit card info, your account continues to be charged month after month for this bogus information.

The other employment scam you must watch out for is imposters pretending to be Facebook’s recruiting team. With this type of scam, you may receive an email, text, or phone call saying that Facebook wants to interview you for a remote job. However, it’s not Facebook. It’s an imposter pretending to be Facebook. Legit companies don’t use free email accounts like Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo, and they’re not going to interview on third-party messaging apps like Telegram, Signal, and WhatsApp.

When you’re uncertain if a job is legit or not, take your time to research the opportunity extensively. Look on websites like the Better Business Bureau and Glassdoor.com — they can offer you a wealth of information. If you’re being contacted by a recruiter, verify their identity on LinkedIn. You should also track all of your applications so you know if you applied for the job or not.

Conclusion: Remote Facebook Jobs

While you need to be aware of scams, you can find many legit work from home jobs with Facebook. If you’re willing to freelance or start a business, there are many money-making options for you that involve being on Facebook!

Good luck, and let us know if you decide to apply for any of these jobs!
