Amazon has officially announced a date for its second annual Prime Big Deal Days.
Also known as ‘Prime Day 2’, Prime Big Deal Days is Amazon’s big autumn sale. The event is scheduled to take place October 8-9 this year, giving Prime members another opportunity to bag a deal between Prime Day and Black Friday.

What is Prime Big Deal Days?
Prime Big Deal Days is Amazon’s yearly October sale and the retailer’s third major sales event alongside Prime Day and Black Friday.
This year, Amazon is promising hundreds of thousands of deals across a wide range of categories and brands, including LG, Sony, Bose, Shark and Tefal.
Customers can also call upon AI shopping assistant Rufus for help this year. Amazon’s generative AI-powered conversational shopping assistant can find deals, answer shopping questions and help you pick out a gift during the sale.
“There has never been a better time to be a Prime member, and Prime Big Deal Days will offer a wide selection of deals across some of our most popular items”, said Amazon’s UK Country Manager, John Boumphrey.
“Customers will be able to get great deals from both big brands and small businesses, and for the first time they can get extra shopping advice from Rufus – our new AI-powered shopping assistant that we launched in the UK this month”.
When is Prime Big Deal Days?
Prime Big Deal Days will take place on Tuesday 8th October and Wednesday 9th October this year, making it a two-day event much like Prime Day.
These dates apply in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, the UK, the US and Turkey.
For Prime members in Japan, the sale will kick off later in October.

How is it different from Prime Day?
The main difference between Prime Day and Prime Big Deal Days is when the events take place.
Prime Day is a summer sale, typically taking place over two days in July, though it was pushed back to October as a one-off move in 2020. The sale has occurred annually since 2015.
Prime Big Deal Days, on the other hand, is an autumnal sale that first kicked off in October 2023 and has now been confirmed for 2024.
When should I sign up for Amazon Prime?
One caveat to Prime Big Deal Days (and Prime Day) is that you need to be an Amazon Prime member to access all of the big deals.
You can sign up for Amazon Prime at any point in the year, but we recommend making the most of the free trial and signing up just ahead of the event if you haven’t trialled Amazon Prime before.
The trial lasts 30 days, meaning you can access all of the Prime Big Deal Days savings, one-day (or in some locations, same day) delivery, Prime Video and Prime Music at no cost for a month.
If you’ve already used your trial or plan to stay signed up beyond the 30-day trial, Amazon Prime is priced at £8.99 a month/£95 a year for most users, or £4.49 a month/£47.49 a year for students and young adults aged 18-22.

While Prime Big Deal Days doesn’t officially kick off until October 8, Amazon has been known to drop deals ahead of its sales.
